Debate on education

Last October our company made a debate ?Conversation about School? at the Warsaw seat of the Business Centre Club; debate?s guests ? academic authorities, leaders of biggest educational foundations and social organizations, local government officials, journalists, and last but not least, school teachers and headmasters ? discussed on the actual problems of our education system.
It results from the findings of the Edukacja Polska S.A. commissioned ?Teaching aids in Polish School? LBS research that bureaucracy, underinvestment of schools and teaching staff, as well as poorly co-operating parents are the most important problems of the Polish educational system.

These and other research findings made the starting point of a lively conversation not only devoted to the way schools are equipped with up-to-date teaching aids, but also to the general condition of the Polish education system. There were several dimensions of the discussion ? from attempts to find answers why education is not present in the public debate, to the critical analysis of weaknesses of our education system. The audience?s excitement, weight of problems touched upon, and postulates being forwarded by debaters made us want to organize few more debates of the like in 2008.
