We already know the winners of the first edition of the Polish contest for local press journalists, which was organized by Stowarzyszenie Gazet Lokalnych (SGL; Local Press Association) on the initiative of Edukacja Polska SA. Bronisław Komorowski, Speaker of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, was the honorary patron of the contest, and the official ceremony with his participation took place October 17, 2008 in the Column Hall in the Sejm of the Republic of Poland.
Edukacja Polska SA put a special contribution to promoting the ?Local Press 2008? contest as was underlined by Ewa Barlik, the host of the ceremony and the director of Stowarzyszenie Gazet Lokalnych, first of all, because the idea for the contest emerged during talks held by the representatives of our company and SGL
with whom Edukacja Polska has been cooperating for a long time. Secondly, it was our company which funded the main prize of PLN 10,000 for the best local newspaper, granted to the editorial team of ?Nowy Łowiczanin? for ?continuous high standards?. Additionally, Edukacja Polska SA granted a prize of PLN 5,000 for the best publication in the ?education? category. Krzysztof Bochus, director of EP SA communication team, bestowed it on Eliza Błaszczyk, Tomasz Bartos and Marcin Kucharski from ?Nowy Łowiczanin? for a publication ?Wyniki kontroli pogrążyły dyrektorkę? (?Audit results nailed the director").
